L.A. Times rates Hyperion/Fountain as one of the city’s worst intersections

The L.A. Times reports on traffic engineer James Moore’s findings of the 10 worst interactions in the city.

Hyperion and Fountain ranked the 9th worst:

9. Fountain and Hyperion

Silver Lake

Facts: 3rd highest traffic volume of any intersection; 38 traffic collisions since 2010

Why so bad: “T-intersection designed for a continuous right turn off the more trafficked street (Hyperion),” Moore wrote.

Mitigating factors: This marks an important change in the L.A. grid. Fountain, a key east-west corridor through Hollywood and West Hollywood, turns north and becomes Hyperion, which runs north toward Glendale.
